Many consider the Maldives the planet's premier honeymoon destination. It is home to lavish resorts personifying the barefoot lifestyle. A cluster of 26 coral atolls, the island nation lies near the equator south of India and stretches throughout 500 miles of the Indian Ocean. The archipelago offers breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear lagoons, and unrivaled luxury. Hundreds of resorts call the Maldives home, so how do you know which hotel would be ideal for your first trip as a married couple? I am here to help. I am revealing part 2 of my fairytale honeymoon resorts in the Maldives.

***These resorts are five stars, but there are different levels, so I will divide them into three categories to find something that fits your budget.***

Luxury Property ($400-1000 per night)

Premium Luxury ($1000-2000 per night)

Ultra Luxe ($2000+ per night)

Personal and stylish Milaidhoo emphasizes the natural environment in understated extravagance. Tucked in the heart of a UNESCO biosphere reserve, enveloped by fine white sands, and nestled beside a multicolored coral reef, Milaidhoo Maldives is a perfect choice for couples who desire a boutique resort.

For newlyweds who want to hoard their piece of heaven, Six Senses Laamu delivers an immaculate, luxurious escape. The only luxury resort in Laamu Atoll, this eco-friendly hideaway is a surfer’s paradise, with Yin Yang – the nation's most famous wave break – located just offshore. The 97 rustically stylish villas feature upper decks to appreciate the panorama fully. Cocoon yourself in a treatment nest at the holistic Six Senses Spa.

Jessie's Hotel Tip: One of the best experiences at Six Senses Laamu is splashing out on a day on your private island, where you’ll be left with a picnic and snorkeling gear to switch off totally.

Baros is a flawless resort lying in the North Male Atoll, a mere 25-minute by speedboat from Malé Airport. With various villas, these stylish bungalows make this the perfect island retreat for young and old alike. Baros will exceed your dreams of lying on a beautiful private island with a crystal-clear coral lagoon. Surrounded by clean, warm turquoise waters and snow-white sands, with forests of coconut palms and fragrant flowers, this cozy resort landscape is worthy of fainting.

Soneva Jani nestles on Medhufaru island, part of an unsettled five-island batch in the Noonu Atoll. Pristine beaches fringe the most exclusive resorts in the Maldives. Luxuriant torrid greenery envelopes Soneva Jani, and a crystal clear-clear water lagoon provides panoramic 360° views of the Indian Ocean. It is the most exclusive and luxurious resort in the Maldives!

Jessie's Hotel Tip: I recommend booking a villa with a water slide. They feature the same layout as the others, but sliding into the perfectly sparkling lagoon brings out your inner child.

Cocoa Island Resort is perfect for honeymooners who want seclusion only, with 33 romantic water villas and three suites. Tucked 40 minutes by speedboat from Male Airport, the hotel is ideal for quick trips to the Maldives. Each overwater bungalow is intimate and resembles a traditional Maldivian fishing boat - the Dhoni.

A haven for socially and environmentally mindful travelers, Patina boasts 90 exquisitely appointed beach and overwater villas designed by celebrated Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan. And with nine restaurants plus three on-site food trucks, you’ll select sustainable cuisine from sunup to sundown. Even the adventures concentrate on eco-friendly activities like seeding coral reefs, adopting injured sea turtles, and observing wild dolphins. Romance with a splash of sustainability makes this an excellent resort for most newlyweds.

Jessie's Hotel Tip: Don't miss the chance to sail on Patina's luxurious and futuristic superyacht, ADASTRA. It's a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Velassaru Maldives delivers luxurious beachfront and overwater accommodations with uninterrupted ocean views. It features various water and adventure sports, sunset cruises, and yoga classes. Velassaru mixes modern luxury with the untouched beauty of the Maldives. The overwater villas are trendy among honeymooners.

One & Only Reethi Rah is an ultra-luxury, all-villa resort delivering an unrivaled level of solitude, choice, and exploration. Situated on one of North Male Atoll's most extensive private islands, there is abundant area, freedom, and activities to uncover. One & Only has 12 immaculate white sand beaches and four miles of shoreline to discover. After a 45-minute of sailing on a yacht, you arrive at an unforgettable, idyllic Maldivian paradise.

Jessie's Hotel Tip: The Tree House is an excellent private location to enjoy romantic evenings and intimate celebrations, offering one of the most breathtaking locations to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

It took a lot of work to narrow down this list. One thing that the Maldives possess in droves is stunning, romantic honeymoon resorts. This article is part two of at least two (maybe three). These are fairytale honeymoon resorts in the Maldives. Do you have a favorite?
