Has the everyday wear and tear of living in our fast-paced world got you needing a break? Do you dream of an island escape where time slows, the air is infused with nutmeg and sea salt, and every sunset feels like a private show? Let me introduce you to one of the Caribbean's best-kept secrets, Grenada, the Spice Isle. This tropical paradise is perfect for anyone seeking romance, adventure, and pure relaxation.

While the Caribbean is dotted with splurge-worthy destinations, Grenada stands out for its untamed beauty, warm hospitality, and authentic island charm. Unlike its more famous neighbors, Grenada offers an intimate getaway without sacrificing luxury or adventure.

Best Time to Visit

Grenada enjoys warm temperatures year-round. But if you want to ensure perfect beach weather, visit from December to April, when the weather is driest and sunniest. Do you desire that feeling of being lost on a desert island? You can avoid the crowds and score better deals during the shoulder seasons, June or November.

Getting to and Around Grenada

One thing that surprises me about Grenada is that it is such an under-the-radar island. It is readily accessible; you will find direct flights from major U.S., Canadian, and European cities. You can get direct flights from the East Coast to Miami, Charlotte, and JFK. The Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) is the island's main gateway, offering convenient access to Grenada's honeymoon hotspots.

Grenada is relatively easy to get around, and transportation options include:

  • Taxis are readily available and suitable for short distances or airport transfers.

  • Car Rentals are ideal for couples who want to explore independently but remember that Grenadians drive on the left.

  • Water Taxis are a picturesque and fun way to hop between beaches and coastal attractions.

  • Buses offer affordability and efficiency, though routes can be limited.

Where to Stay

Grenada has no shortage of breathtaking accommodations, from secluded beachfront villas to five-star resorts. Here are some of my favorite romantic resorts in Grenada:

Infinity pool with palm trees leads to ocean, under a clear blue sky. Lounge chairs line the path. Serene and tropical setting.

Silversands Grenada is beyond ordinary. The upscale resort provides pristine beaches and forests, an appealing culture, and unique cuisine; honeymooners can choose between numerous suites and villas. You will find locally inspired spa treatments and the longest infinity-edge pool in the Caribbean. Silversands' restaurants showcase the island's agricultural and culinary artisans.

Laluna has just seven and 16 villas. The beachfront resort is quiet and secluded, with an authentic Grenadian vibe. The cottages are perfect for honeymooners because they are cozy and romantic. Even though it is small, the resort offers a pool, a bar, and an open-air lounge. Weathered wood makes up the decor and furnishings, and local Caribbean art enhances the ambiance. Couples will adore the Balinese-inspired spa.

Spice Island Beach Resort is an all-inclusive luxury resort that is one of Grenada's most luxurious and well-regarded properties. It offers 64 posh suites that dot a quarter-mile of perfect beachfront. It is a serene oasis amidst the bustling Grand Anse beach area; you will find two restaurants, a lovely spa, and various activities. But a premium is placed on peace and relaxation. The stunning pool area is calm and private. But you should know that locals and guests of nearby resorts can use the beach.

Six Senses La Sagesse is a newly opened eco-luxury resort that blends sustainability with refined comfort, offering private pool villas and wellness-focused experiences. I was lucky enough to stay at Six Senses when it first opened, and it was fantastic! It is one of the best new resorts I have ever attended. I will have a full review posted soon.

Sandals Grenada brought the wow factor to Grenada with its Skypool Penthouse Suites, which have infinity pools on their balconies. The resort features various dining and activities, with ten restaurants, a spa, numerous pools, and scuba diving. Honeymooners will find a superb luxury all-inclusive resort experience at Sandals. Book a butler category room if you want the ultimate pampering and service.

Nothing can bring you into the heart of a culture as exploring their cuisine. No amount of sightseeing, exploring, or shopping will give the whole experience of the country. Grenada comes to life when you savor their freshly spiced dishes! Be sure to try:

  • Oil Down – Grenada's national dish, a flavorful one-pot stew of coconut milk, breadfruit, and spices.

  • Fresh Seafood – From grilled lobster to the day's catch, you'll find mouthwatering seafood options everywhere.

  • Rum Cocktails – Visit River Antoine Rum Distillery to taste their legendary, potent rum.
