I spent the Spring of 2018 transfixed by the royal wedding. Prince Harry has long been my favorite member of the royal family (He's a ginger, and we stick together!) So, when he finally found love with the divine, Meghan Markle, I was super excited. I even got up early to watch the wedding live. I was going to wear a hat, but that seemed a touch too crazy even for me. And I am thrilled that they have moved to the US with baby Archie. One of my dreams (that I have never told anyone) is to interview Meghan about the roll of transformative travel in changing the world. I know it will never happen, but I keep hope alive!
Everyone knows that the wedding is just an excuse to go on an incredible, sex-filled vacation. (Maybe that is just me?) Consequently, the newly crowned Duke and Duchess of Sussex beat feet to Alberta, Canada, once their royal duties were complete. You may not be able to close down Windsor Castle or have wall to wall news coverage of your big day. But nothing is stopping you from honeymooning like royalty at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta, Canada.

Harry and Meghan honeymooned in the Outlook Cabin, otherwise known as "The Royal Retreat." The royal family has a long history at Jasper Park Lodge as both Queen Elizabeth & Prince Phillip, and her parents have stayed in this very cabin in the past.

Enjoy homelike comforts and amenities, enclosed by incredible views of grand mountains and the emerald green Lac Beauvert.
Jessie's Suite Recommendations:
If you are going to stay in the main building, you can't do better than the Lakefront Suite with Fireplace. Both the location and the view is superb. Imagine spending cold honeymoon nights curled up in front of a crackling fireplace with your new spouse! If you want to escape from the crowds, you should book one of the romantic cabins—a fairytale cabin idyllically situated in a rural mountain setting. Enclosed verandas with stunning views, incredible stone fireplaces, private saunas, outdoor firepits, these cabins are top of the line perfect for couples that want to be alone during their honeymoon.
Dining at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Food lovers will enjoy the abundant eateries located at the Jasper Park Lodge. They have partnered with the Twin Meadows Farms in British Columbia to ensure that your farm to table dreams come true. Are you looking for a delicious Italian restaurant or steak house? Orso Trattoria and Moose Nook's Chophouse are where you want to go. If fresh seafood is on your mind, don't miss Oka Sushi. Cocktails, cold beers, burgers, and lively conversation are available at the Emerald Lodge. Quick bites to either dine-in or take out are available at both Thompson's Terrace and Fitzhugh's To Go. Lastly, you can choose never to leave your room. In-room/cabin dining is always available for couples that are too busy (read too naked) to head to one of the restaurants.
Spa at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Inspired by the fundamental elements of the surrounding Jasper National Park, the spa exhibits the energy of the mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. Jasper's grandeur does more than take your breath away - it inspires you to slow your pace. It allows you to breathe deeply and to reflect on the fantastic artistry of nature. The spa has seven private treatment rooms, two couples treatment rooms. A full-service salon offers a full array of hair, makeup, waxing, and nail services.
Adventures at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
There are many must-see sites in Jasper National Park, like the Columbia Icefield & Athabasca Glacier, Sunwapta Falls, Cavell Meadows, and Mount Edith Cavell. But you can have a wonderful time and never leave your resort. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is a year-round destination; there are always activities in which you can participate. In the summer, enjoy golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, and mountain climbing. In the winter, enjoy skiing, ice skating, and snowshoeing. You will never be bored in Alberta!
Perfect honeymoons are a blend of active days and lazy days. Romance doesn't have to take a backseat to exploring. Picnics by the lake, making wishes on the stars or simply snuggling in front of a roaring fire, Jasper Park Lodge can make all your honeymoon dreams come true.
You don't have to be royalty to have the royal treatment for your honeymoon. With a little planning, your honeymoon can be just as beautiful and romantic as Harry and Meghan's honeymoon, maybe more, because you won't have a bunch of security cramping your alone time!
