A Perfect Honeymoon in Greece

Tucked away in an eastern corner of Europe, south of Macedonia and Albania, and directly across the Ionian Sea from southern Italy lies gorgeous Greece. The country offers antique sun-bleached ruins sticking blue skies, the balmy Aegean rippling, and an endless coastline; Greek culture is alive with dynamic music, superb cuisine, and thrill-seeking activities. Greece is also the birthplace of democracy.

I've put together various versions of the following itinerary for first-time visitors to the country because it highlights Greece's loveliest and most iconic islands in a logical, quickly-followed plan. Every honeymoon I design is entirely tailor-made for you. We will work together to customize the perfect honeymoon in Greece. This sample itinerary gives you a taste of what I can do. As it is, you will experience the best that the Greek Islands have to offer. Immerse yourself in Santorini's romantic beauty, the incomparable charm of Crete, Athen's vibrant energy, and Mykonos's beachfront, barefoot luxury. Here is my Perfect Honeymoon in Greece.

Day 1 Fly into Athens for the Start of Your Grecian Honeymoon

You will be met at the airport by your private driver, who will whisk you to the romantic first hotel of your trip. Today is to unwind and relax after all the time you spent planning the wedding. Spend a leisurely day marveling at the view of the Acropolis from your balcony. In the afternoon, leave the map in your room. Then, get lost in the Plaka! Walk the narrow, winding cobblestone streets. You will discover the pure heart of Athens by meeting its people and finding little out-of-the-way boutiques and cafes. Don't worry. Athens is compact; you can find your way home quickly.

Jessie's Athens Tip: choose a hotel near the Acropolis. The views will be stunning.

Jessie recommends New Hotel, King George, and Grand Bretagne in Athens.

Day 2 Athens

Time to get some culture and explore ancient Athens! Delve into the decadent yore of Athens with a private tour. Visit Constitution Square, the House of Parliament, and the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, admire the Evzones in their traditional uniform and the Presidential Palace. On your way to the Acropolis, see the magnificent Hadrian's Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896. Next, climb the breathtaking Acropolis and visit the Parthenon, the massive marble gates of the Propylaia, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the renowned Porch of Maidens at the temple of Erechtheion.

Day 3 Athens

Commune with the oracles at Delphi. Your private driver will pass by Castalia Spring, allowing you to admire the Argives king's monument, the Polygonal Wall, and the Temple of Apollo. Continue to the Delphi museum and view engaging exhibits. Relish a casual and unhurried lunch in Arachona. Stroll the picturesque village, and finish your walk with a cup of traditional Greek coffee. Relax in comfort as we head to Athens.

Day 4 Athens to Crete

You will be picked up at your hotel by your private driver and escorted to the Athens airport for your journey to Crete. After a quick 45-minute flight, your next driver will take you from Crete airport to your hotel. Crete is a haven for foodies, so spend your day relaxing and taste-testing dishes while sunning yourselves at the beach.

Jessie's Crete Tip: there are many lovely hotels in the center of Crete, but choose a beach resort to enjoy downtime sipping adult beverages as warm turquoise waters lap against your toes.

Jessie recommends Abaton Island Resort & Spa, Blue Palace, and GDM Megaron for Crete.

Day 5 Crete

Take an extraordinary journey through the Cretan flavors and partake of the natural Cretan way of life. Your private guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the high peaks of the White Mountains. You will prepare traditional and delicious homemade dishes using healthy organic Cretan ingredients. Walk through the vegetable gardens to see, feel, smell, touch, and taste the pure products of Mother Earth. After your excellent cooking lesson, partake of delicious Cretan wine paired with local cheese. You will return to your resort full of recipes you can prepare at home whenever you want to relive your honeymoon.

Day 6 Crete

Today is a scheduled "Do Nothing Day." Head to the spa or soak up the vitamin D at the beach.

Day 7 Crete to Mykonos

Your private driver will pick you up at your resort and take you to the pier for your high-speed ferry to Mykonos. A private driver who will take you to your hotel will meet you at the dock. Spend the rest of the day resting; you are on the party island! Plan on some late nights dancing the night away.

Jessie's Greek ferry tip: choose first-class or business tickets; not all classes have seats on ferries. Depending on the route, you can be on the ferry for two to three hours, so upgrade!

Day 8 Mykonos

Spend the day sailing on your private yacht in the Aegean Sea. Set sail for Mykonos' south coast. Unwind at the beach, and snorkel in the stunning turquoise water. If you get tired of fun in the sun, sail to Delos and marvel at the ancient archaeological site.

Day 9 Mykonos

Experience authentic Greek hospitality and flavors with a meal at the Mykonian Spiti. Meet the family and learn local customs in a warm, personal setting before relishing a delicious home-cooked meal served with Greek wine. Spend the rest of your day snuggling at your resort.

Day 10 Mykonos to Santorini

Your private driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to the pier so you can catch the high-speed ferry to Santorini. When you arrive on the island, a driver will pick you up at the dock and take you to your hotel.

Jessie's Santorini Tip: Santorini is the most iconic and romantic of the islands. It is the island to splurge. Some of my favorite hotels offer cave suites with private pools and sunset views of the caldera; they are the perfect option for ending an island-hopping honeymoon.

Day 11 Santorini

Sip your way through Santorini with a private wine tour. You'll get a great introduction to the island's wine and fook culture with visits to some of the island's most renowned vineyards.

Day 12 Santorini

Travel in style aboard a luxury catamaran, stopping to bask on Santorini's red and white sand beaches. Swim and snorkel among crystalline waters, and soak in volcanic hot springs. Encounter the stark volcanic beauty of the Aegean and an extraordinary Santorini sunset on an afternoon catamaran cruise.

Day 13 Santorini

Get to know some of Santorini's most beautiful areas and impress your friends and family with gorgeous flying dress photos. Let your beauty stand out against Santorini's blue domes with a private flying dress photo shoot.

Day 14 Santorini

Your honeymoon in Greece has come to an end, sorry. You can start dreaming of where you will go for your First Anniversary on the flight home! Meet your private driver to make your way to the airport.

Greece is the perfect destination for a dream honeymoon. If you follow my Perfect Honeymoon in Greece itinerary, you will see the top sites and feel free and calm. What would you change about this itinerary?
