The Maldives are one of my top honeymoon destinations every year. Countless stunning beach destinations bless the Maldives. With crystal clear blue waters softly lapping against remote reaches of pristine white sand, the Maldives offer a sanctuary away from the stresses of your everyday life. The staggeringly beautiful islands are tiny and impossibly pure. Getting to the Maldives takes time, so many couples want to avoid adding a seaplane transfer to get to their resort. If you choose a resort accessible by boat, you can have your toes in the sand within 30 to 45 m minutes of arriving in the Maldives. Here are the best Maldivian resorts that you can reach by speedboat.

Baros Maldives

25 Nins from Male Airport

Baros is an ideal resort lying in the North Male Atoll. With various villas, these contemporary bungalows make this an immaculate island retreat for young and old alike. Baros will exceed your dreams of lying on a beautiful private island with a crystal-clear coral lagoon. Surrounded by clean, warm turquoise waters and snow-white sands, with forests of coconut palms and fragrant flowers, this cozy resort landscape is worthy of fainting.

OZEN Reserve Bolifushi

20 Mins from Male Airport

A lavish resort with breathtaking overwater villas, OZEN Reserve delivers a truly inclusive experience. This bespoke and self-indulgent all-inclusive plan is entirely OZEN. Its privileges encompass inspiring fine dining, premium beverages, massages, and exclusive excursions incorporated seamlessly with your stay for a lavish honeymoon.

Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa

30 Mins from Male Airport

Gently climbing from a sheet of crystal clear turquoise waters, Four Seasons Resort Kuda Huraa is an exquisite garden island haven offering a sophisticated and creative choice of amusement, escapism, and preservation. The resort has four fabulous restaurants, a sunset lounge, a bar, and a vast freshwater infinity-edged swimming pool.

Taj Exotic Resort & Spa

15 Mins from Male Airport

Known for its vigilant service, the upmarket Taj Exotica is a private island retreat on one of the most extensive lagoons in the Maldives. Each of the 64 luxurious villas offers pools, personalized butlers, and expansive views of the Indian Ocean. Amenities include an on-site fitness center over the lagoon's waters. The area includes diving, sea kayaking, helicopter tours, fishing, waterskiing, and windsurfing.

Anantara Veli Maldives Resort

30 Mins from Male Airport

An exemplary getaway unfolds when you arrive on the powder-white shores of the adults-only Anantara Veli. Discover comeback at the spa with Ayurvedic therapies tailored to your needs. Savor fresh fare at seven waterfront eateries. If you can pull yourself away, Anantara offers unforgettable excursions and endless opportunities for romance.

Kandima Maldives

15 Mins from Male Airport

Kandima was a late-comer to the Maldivian traveler market and is markedly dissimilar to the classic romantic fare. It's aimed at sports-loving, party-going groups, couples, and families. It provides a range of accommodation options, from affordable studios to luxury pool villas.

Naladhu Private Island Maldives

30 Mins from Male Airport

Lying in the Laccadive Sea, Naladhu is a small resort of just 20 houses, each with a private swimming pool and beach access. These come into three categories: Ocean House, Beach House, and Two-Bedroom Pool Residence. Long noted for its beauty among the locals, the tiny private island invites guests to unwind in blissful seclusion. Naladhu means 'beautiful island' in Maldivian. It provides a mosaic of timeless moments on its lagoon's most serene sapphire waters, which it shares with its sister resorts, Anantara Dhigu and Anantara Veli.

After several long flights, adding a seaplane flight to the end of your travel time can feel daunting. Several lovely resorts in the Maldives are accessible via speedboat. This article is part one of my series highlighting resorts that don't require an extra flight to get to your resort. Let's plan your Maldives honeymoon.
