It's time to look back on 2023 and look forward to 2024. Couples often ask about the most popular romantic destinations, and it's difficult to answer because each honeymooner is different. But I compile a list of our most popular honeymoon destinations every year. This list includes some of the most incredible countries in the world. Last year was surprising. Here are Trips to Cherish's top six destinations honeymooners chose in 2023.

Number 6 Turkiye (AKA Turkey)

Turkey is making its first appearance on my top honeymoon destinations list. Whether a hot air balloon in Cappadocia, a Bosphorus cruise in Istanbul, or relaxing on a stunning beach in Fethiye, Turkey provides numerous romantic settings for honeymooners. Turkiye is a historical marvel with ancient ruins and architectural wonders. Ephesus and Istanbul are the perfect blend of cultural exploration and exotic romance. From Cappadocia's unique rock formations to Antalya's prestigious beaches, Turkey has diverse landscapes catering to different couples.

Number 5 France

Paris is an essential multisensorial terminus and a must-visit when heading to France. It's easy to understand why Paris is the world's most romantic city. Imagine adorable cobblestone streets, iconic junctures, stunning palaces, picturesque parks, and world-class restaurants. But France is so much more than Paris. While many of our couples that chose France as their destination did visit Paris, most chose a different region for most of their trip. After discovering the capital, the couples decided to soak in the quintessentially French vibes of the South of France. You will fall in love as soon as you glimpse rolling hillsides, lush valleys, and stunning fields of purple lavender. Provence harkens back to yesteryear—with sun-soaked days gabbing with neighbors and sipping wine in a quaint courtyard overlooking a medieval cathedral.

Number 4 French Polynesia (AKA Tahiti)

One hundred eighteen islands scattered across an area as large as Western Europe, Tahiti continues to call to anyone desiring a romantic and unique honeymoon. Jagged peaks rise out of the ocean in an eruption of green velvet on some islands, while others appear gracefully flung on the sea, barely gliding above breaking waves. Most honeymooners opted for Bora Bora. French Polynesia is the ideal place to start your new life together.

Number 3 Greek Isles

I adore the Greek Isles; they are the perfect romantic destination. The islands are home to the world's most luxurious resorts, delicious food & wine, and the cradle of Western civilization. Greece has always been an ideal Mediterranean vacation destination with over 1,400 islands (230 inhabited); choosing which one to visit can be challenging. My clients' favorite honeymoon isle was the iconic and gorgeous Santorini.

Number 2 The Maldives

Honeymooning in the Maldives checks every box a couple looking for the ultimate luxury and relaxation could want. If you look at photos of the Maldives, you can see why it is the top honeymoon destination. Arguably, it is the world's most gorgeous, iconic, and romantic locale. Stunning beaches? Indeed. The most luxurious overwater bungalows in the world? Absolutely. Total privacy for newlyweds? Absolutely. The Maldives is the top romantic destination in the world, hands down!

Number 1 Amalfi Coast

The Maldives has been my top honeymoon destination for the last three years, so it takes a unique destination to knock it down to the number 2 spot, but Positano blew it out of the water this year. With breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and thrilling activities, this coastal paradise offers the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. Whether you desire scenic hikes, fascinating history, or a place to unwind, the Positano has it all for your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon. So, prepare to embark on a remarkable journey with memories that will last a lifetime.

2023 was a banner year for Trips to Cherish! Amalfi Coast is always famous with our clients, but this is the first time it has topped our top destination list. You will notice that no Caribbean or Hawaiian islands were on our most traveled list. Since the pandemic, couples want to experience their fantasy destination. Let's chat about your dream destination.
