Wicked was my favorite movie of the year. That is no big surprise because I always loved the stage play; I've seen it in New York and London. I was on pins and needles waiting to see the Wicked movie. I was all atwitter about the magical world of Oz. If you are a bride-to-be who loves a good Broadway-inspired bash, you're about to embark on an exclusive journey. A Wicked-themed bachelorette party, a rare and exclusive event, is the perfect way to celebrate! Here are some spellbinding ideas to ensure the party is as magical as the Land of Oz.

Invitations:

Set the Stage for Magic

Begin by sending out invitations that hint at the whimsical world of Wicked. Think glittery emerald green cards, star-shaped designs like Glinda's wand, or scroll-style invites with phrases like:

  • "Defy gravity and join us!"

  • "Something Wicked This Way Comes: [Bride's Name] Bachelorette Party."

Include a dress code to set the mood, encouraging guests to wear green, pink, or sparkly attire inspired by the witches of Oz. To cater to Wicked fans and non-fans, you can suggest a broader 'magical' theme, allowing guests to dress as any magical character they like.

Decor:

Transform Your Venue into Oz

Go all out with decorations to create an immersive experience:

  • Emerald City Glam: Use emerald green tablecloths, gold accents, balloon accents, and sparkling lights to recreate the opulence of the Emerald City, a key location in Wicked.

  • Good Witch Meets Wicked Witch: Divide the space into two themes. One side is pink and glittery for Glinda, with a bubble machine for extra charm. The other side is darker and moody, with green lighting and "spell books."

  • Flying Monkey Photo Booth: Set up a photo booth with props like broomsticks, witch hats, wands, and wings.

  • Over the Rainbow Details: Incorporate colorful balloons, streamers, and centerpieces to add a nod to Oz.

  • Spellcasting Games: Organize games like a "Witch Trivia" contest about Wicked or a scavenger hunt with Oz-inspired clues.

  • Broadway Dance Class: Book a dance instructor to teach a routine inspired by Wicked choreography. If you are in the Lexington, KY area and are looking for a fabulous dance teacher, contact Dani at First Dance Kentucky. She is a phenomenal teacher!
